Legacy | A mentoring program of New Alternatives, Inc.

Welcome to Legacy

In the spring of 2012, New Alternatives, Inc. was informed that AmeriCorps would not be renewing the funding for the Legacy Corps respite care program.  Without these funds, we were unable to keep the program running.  We wanted to continue being involved with intergenerational programming, so the new Legacy program was created.

Legacy is a program that supports emancipated foster youth ages 18-24 years old.  Our program goal is to support participants as they make progress towards completing their goals of attaining education and employment in the healthcare field.

Our mission is to support participants through the process of applying for school, obtaining financial aid, completing their educational program, interning in senior healthcare facilities, and obtaining  employment in the healthcare field.

Check out our links to learn more about the youth participating in our program, our community sponsors, and how you can become involved.
